Employee Volunteer Program Makes Local Impact 2024

Dauphin Co-op is a strong supporter of our communities. We value the time our Team Members devote to volunteering in the community and offer the Employee Volunteer Program where an employee may request that Dauphin Co-op matches the first $500 in pledges collected for a fundraising event or have a donation made on their behalf.
Every quarter, Team Members who volunteer are entered into a draw and one is chosen to donate $500 to a local charity or not-for-profit organization of their choice.
Of all the Team Members that volunteered in 2024, the following employees had $500 donated to the organizations of their choice.
Joan Chetyrbok, Marketing, believes no-one should go hungry. " Providing meals to students improves the quality of life and the ability to learn and excel in school. I am grateful that Dauphin Co-op matches our pledges to make an even bigger impact." The Coldest Night of the Year in Dauphin benefits The Dauphin Friendship Centre's Food for Thought Program.
Richard Ives, Asset Protection, volunteers for many Co-op sponsored events, Dauphin Citizens on Patrol and other local organizations. "One benefit of Citizens on Patrol is to enhance public safety. With more eyes and ears on the streets the Dauphin COPP can potentially reduce response times to incidents and deter criminal activity. Volunteers can observe and report suspicious activity potentially preventing crimes before they occur.
Brenden Higgins, Grocery, plays with and volunteers for Dauphin Minor Baseball Association and appreciates the others involved with the sport and the opportunity for youth to learn and excel at baseball. "I've been playing with them for a long time. They are all great people and I think they deserve it." Brenden was not available when we made the cheque presentation to Blake Bartram, DMBA.
Rachel, Admin, volunteers for many Co-op sponsored events and local events. She also heads up the Dauphin and area Tabs for Wheelchairs program. "PRVSI is a non-profit organization that supports adults living with intellectual disabilities. They provide a day program that individuals can attend and enjoy various activities at the centre as well as the chance to attend events and outings in the community. My son has been attending for six years. This has given him the opportunity to enjoy many activities, meet new people, make new friends and grow his circle of support. PRVSI plays an integral role in his life, and I am happy for them to receive this donation from Co-op."
Stephen, Dauphin Building Centre, volunteers for many Co-op sponsored events and various youth sports. "Dauphin Friendship Centre and the Food for Thought Program gives back to the community daily. Education, nutrition, food security and health go hand-in-hand to help promote happy, healthy youth and in turn builds community."
Volunteers are the backbone of our communities, dedicating their time to a wide range of causes and initiatives. From community projects to youth programs, sports teams to local organizations and venues, volunteers play a vital role in making our communities vibrant and thriving.
We are so grateful to each and everyone of our Co-op employees for the sacrifices they make to enrich the life of our communities through volunteerism. Cheers to these employee efforts in 2024!
