Dauphin Consumers Co-op is hiring a Health & Safety Advisor in our Administration department in Dauphin, MB.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety programs across our 8 locations. This role ensures compliance with applicable legislation while promoting a safety culture for all employees, customers, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health & safety programs across all operational areas.

· Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments for all commodities.

· Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, legislation, and internal policies.

· Coordinates and facilitates specialized health and safety training needs for employees.

· Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.

· Work collaboratively with Division and Department management to implement continuous improvements, acting as a resource and advisor on all matters related to health and safety.

· Provide guidance and direction on accommodation programs.

· Monitors and ensures that applicable departments are compliant with National Safety Code legislation.

· Liaise with external regulatory bodies and participate in inspections when required.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail and have:

· Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent) is preferred.

· Minimum 3 years of experience in a health & safety role, preferably in retail, petroleum, agriculture, or construction/lumber environments.

· Solid understanding of provincial and federal health and safety regulations.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to work collaboratively.

· Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.

· Is goal orientated, self-reliant and capable of managing competing priorities and schedules.

· Ability to work independently and travel to various company sites.
