For 85 years Dauphin Co-op has been building, feeding, fueling, and growing the communities where we live, work and play — 85 years of making a difference in peoples' lives.

Our Co-op started in 1939 with a group of local people with the vision and courage to get together and invest $2,500 to form a co-operative and get into the petroleum business. This was done to fight back and purchase their own goods and services and not be at the mercy of large corporate companies and would have monopoly on the business. They wanted to help themselves and their families do better, build their communities and not have profits leave the community and go to billionaire owners somewhere else. The profits made at Dauphin Co-op go back to its Members and stays in the communities.

Dauphin Co-op is still making a difference in our Members' lives today and building the communities in which we serve. Thanks to our Co-op Members and Team Members, we are able to provide a substantial sponsorship in the amount of $50,000 to the MB Summer Games. Here are a few words from our Funding Announcement.

"This sponsorship reflects our vision — to enrich the life of our communities and our brand promises of being locally invested and community minded. This investment will help offset the costs of hosting more than 900 competing athletes, coaches and the volunteers throughout the week." stated Lorne Eiffert, General Manager, Dauphin Co-op. "For us to be able to contribute to fantastic events like the summer games is only possible due to our Team Members and the work they do, day in and day out, providing a fantastic customer experience and of course our Members and customers for shopping with us and giving us the support to provide back to the community. There couldn't be a better place in Manitoba to host the games to showcase our great communities and what we have to offer." 

"This is a prime example of when you shop local it allows businesses like Co-op to be there and help support our community like the MB Summer Games that shows us off in a provincial field." James Blake, Representative for Dan Mazier, MP, shared remarks on behalf of Dan. "Events like these are an excellent opportunity to showcase our close-knit community and rural Canada as a whole. Days like today remind me of how proud I am to represent a rural Canadian Riding that proves that the rural way of life is vibrant and has a very positive future because of communities like Dauphin."

Crystal Vandenbosch, Constituency Representative for Ron Kostyshyn, MLA said, "A heartfelt thank you to Dauphin Co-op on their milestone anniversary. Dauphin Co-op is a valuable asset to our community and a tremendous business leader. We recognize their valuable sponsorship to the MB Summer Games and the legacy that will leave our community. Congratulations to the Board of Directors and the Co-op team in Dauphin. Thank you for your hard work and dedication."

Clayton Swanton, Co-Chair, 2024 Summer Games Host Committee shared, "The Dauphin Co-op was one of the first groups to step up to sponsor the games when we decided we were going to host and were awarded the bid back in 2019. We're extremely grateful for this very large donation of $50,000. It's unheard of for the games in the past to get donations of that magnitude. We don't take it for granted. We are very, very appreciative of the hard work the Co-op Members and employees do to develop such a great organization that is constantly at the top of the list when it comes time to give back. On behalf of Carla, myself and entire organization chart, seventy plus people that are heading committees to pull this off so August 11-17 can blow everyone's socks off — we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Dauphin Co-op and its Members for this fantastic donation."
